Your family portrait is an opportunity to tell the story about who you are as a family and a time to enjoy the uniqueness of each of your loved ones. I will help you design a portrait of your family, and it will be a fun, easy experience. The final product will complement your home and most importantly, make your heart happy.

Are you a planner? If so, these are the things to think about:

where you plan to hang the portraits – It’s great to know your decorating style: Do you need an image to be horizontal or vertical? Do you want a single portrait or a collection of images framed together?

coordinating the family’s clothing – J. Crew, Banana Republic, Gap and Gymboree are very helpful with getting outfits that look good together, but aren’t too “matchy” although I tend to pull things together from Anthropologie, Nordstroms and local boutiques like Sweet Pea and A Perfect Treasure. If you want portraits for a specific room in your home, lay out the clothing in that room and squint your eyes. If a clothing item really stands out, you may want to exchange it for something that has a more similar tone. I am always happy to help you with clothing choices or help you do your shopping and choosing. Just email me at for help and ideas.

planning the day of your portrait –  Time of day and time of year affect where we will be able to photograph and how happy your children will be. With young children, morning times tend to be the best, but we will make the session time based on the best lighting available at the location chosen.

Have a unique idea or need help getting things organized? Please email me with questions. Or if you just want to let things happen, bring a fun selection of clothes to the session and I’ll do the rest.
